Welcome to Coolingcare's FAQ section!
Below we have collected the questions that are most frequently asked by our customers
How to choose the right cleaning medium?
The selection of the right cleaning medium should depend on the type of deposits and contaminants in the channels. A different cleaning medium is recommended for mineral-based scale, while another medium will be dedicated to rust deposits with a high content of iron oxides. For more on deposits and types of dedicated cleaners, see HERE
How many tools can we clean on one tank? How often do we need to change the chemistry?
Each cleaning medium has its own 'capacity', which means that it will actively interact and chemically react with the deposits until the solution is 'saturated'. How many tools we will be able to clean before the solution stops working largely depends on the number of channels their length and capacity, the degree of contamination, etc. Therefore, it is difficult to answer this question unequivocally. With average tools with a high degree of contamination, the life of the cleaning medium is usually about 5 to 8 forms. Our equipment has a solution timer, which helps to estimate the frequency of replacing the medium in a given plant.
Can cleaning media be discharged into the wastewater? What is the disposal procedure?
Like all other media of this type, cleaning agents should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations, which do not allow the discharge of the used medium directly into the wastewater. They should be collected by dedicated companies.
What is the cost of disposing of cleaning products?
The average price of disposal cost is 3zl per kilogram of waste
What is the price of cleaning products?
Please feel free to contact our sales department directly for an offer. We offer our dedicated cleaning products only to customers who have purchased our equipment.
How long does the prepared cleaner last?
Typically, we can clean 5 to 8 tools on one tank, depending on the size of the mold, the number of channels and the degree of contamination.
Are cleaning products safe for mold?
Our cleaners have undergone tests in which we examined the degree of chemical reaction of the solution with the native material. The tests showed negligible effects of the cleaning agent on tool steels, as well as non-ferrous materials. Detailed data are made available to our customers. We must remember that every chemical will react in a greater or lesser way with the material with which it comes into contact. Therefore, it is also worth paying attention to the aspect of safety and minimizing the time of the cleaning itself. Ultimately, we want the cleaning medium to be in contact with the sludge inside the duct, rather than circulating through a clean circuit.
Are cleaners safe for orings and baffles made of plastics such as polyamide?
Our cleaners are safe for orings made of materials such as Viton or Teflon. For baffles made of polyamide, cleaning should be short-lived due to the low chemical resistance of this material.
Is it possible to clean the channels with water alone, without using cleaning agents? What is the effectiveness of such cleaning?
Of course, you can clean with water alone, while such a solution is not recommended for two reasons. First, it is much more time-consuming - the cleaning media we use are designed to soften the sediment, which is flushed out thanks to the high dynamics of the cavitation cleaning process. Po we increase the risk of pieces of hard sludge breaking off and clogging the channel. This is particularly dangerous with small diameters, such as in conformal cooling.
What affects the effectiveness of cleaning? On average, how long does one cleaning cycle last?
The effectiveness of the cleaning process is a combination of several elements. These are a well-chosen cleaning medium, which allows for the softening of lingering deposits, temperature, which is the catalyst for the chemical reaction, and the dynamics of the process, which is the key element that allows for a shorter cleaning time and, therefore, contact between the tool and the cleaning medium. How often should the cooling channels be cleaned?
The answer to this question depends on the condition in which the company conditions its water, whether it controls and stabilizes it chemically, minimizing the risk of precipitation, as well as whether it purges and protects the channels after the production process. A significant influence on precipitation as well as corrosion processes is the thermal load on the mold. We are a proponent of a preventive approach, where the channels are cleaned according to the scheduled cyclic inspection of the tool, with experience averaging every six months.
How to treat cooling water so as to minimize the risk of precipitation?
Cooling water conditioning is key if you want to minimize cooling system inefficiency problems in injection molds. For more information on cooling water parameters, see HERE
Can I clean with products other than those offered by Coolingcare?
As a rule, there is no contraindication to the use of other cleaning agents, but it is advisable in each case to consult the medium with the manufacturer of the device. Media dedicated to Coolingcare devices are designed to harmonize with the dynamics of the device and cavitation cleaning. The use of alternative media may prove less effective.
Can we clean ducts that are cooled with glycol?
There are no objections to cleaning glycol-cooled ducts. For more information on the differences between water and glycol cooling, see HERE
Is it possible to export data to external devices?
Yes, all units except CP case and CP1 have this capability. The range of exported data varies depending on the model and the sophistication of the unit. The most advanced database with the ability to save up to 3,000 molds is available on CA series units. The new version of the software allows a report to be automatically generated after the process is completed and sent to a designated email address.
Is it possible to import data into the machine?
No, at this time there is no possibility of sending data to the device.
What data can I extract from the device and how?
The range of data that we can export from a device depends on its type. This is usually in the form of a report with cleaning results, information on flow rate before and after cleaning, leakage test results, patency, cleaning time, etc. In CA series units we have the possibility to use the OPC UA module, which allows us to extract from the device all the data concerning the machine operation itself, such as: real-time preview of the operating parameters, i.e. current process and time to completion, results of patency and leakage tests, results of the last diagnostics, information about the current project.
What is the warranty period?
The standard warranty period is 12 months, with the possibility of extending it to 36 months.
Is it possible to extend the warranty period of the machine?
Yes, we can offer you a warranty extension with the option to purchase an annual service inspection with replacement of wear and tear components.
Is there a manual for periodic maintenance of the device?
All information on the maintenance of the device can be found in the detailed machine documentation supplied with the device.
What actions are required to keep the device in working order?
The detailed scope of service activities is described in the equipment documentation. In order to guarantee the long-term and efficient operation of the machine, it is crucial to follow the recommendations, such as cleaning the filters and tanks, regularly replacing the media, and ensuring the quality of compressed air of the purity class specified in the documentation.
How long is the product support for the device?
We ensure the availability of spare parts for your model for a period of 10 years after purchase.
What are the costs of servicing after the warranty period?
Assuming that the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines are followed, the service costs are closed to the replacement of parts and consumables.
What is the delivery time of the equipment?
The device is delivered according to the date shown on the quotation, we usually deliver the device within 4 weeks after the order is placed.
Is cavitation cleaning safe for circuits killed by plugs (e.g., in a mold cavity)?
Yes, cavitation cleaning is, in principle, safe for the tool. The cavitation phenomenon is induced intermittently for short periods of time, so the risk that the dynamics of the process will damage the structure is minimal. However, it may happen that if the mold is old and heavily corroded, the plugs will be loosened and displaced after the removal of scale and rust deposits.
Can channels that are completely clogged be decongested?
Using a patented two-step cleaning sequence, Coolingcare devices are able to increase the likelihood of clearing a completely clogged circuit. This requires a proper procedure, which is outlined during the initial commissioning of the device and staff training.
